Hudson Vintage Neighborhood Association  meeting notes  3/20/00

Present at meeting:  Chuck Kummeth, Lee Wyland  Karen Neset, Scot O'Malley

Meeting began at 7:10pm .  The first item discussed was the proposed Block

Party, set for September 16th of this year.  Lee brought up the issue of

cost for a banner announcing the party.  He had talked to someone who said

the cost of one banner would be approximately $1500.  Additionally,  we

have to pay the city to put the banner up.

Karen spoke to Anita  at  Vine Street Floral, who is in favor of the party

but couldn't contribute more than $50 in flowers.

Chuck will follow up with Grant Yetter about a band to play at the party.

He will also poll residents of Sixth Street about their acceptance of a

block party on their street.  He will also check on getting ice cream.

Lee spoke with Abigail Page and Mary Morgan at Mickey Finn's about

supporting the party.  They explained that Mickey Finn's is actually a

bunch of individual  dealers, and they couldn't speak for all of them.

Mary said she would help, but her business is for sale and she may no be in

business next fall.

Moving on to other business:

Karen will check with Mary Washburn about talking to Dorothy Wilson at the

Historical Society about our possible involvement with the Octagon House in

conjunction with Preservation Week in May.

Lee thought a brochure for our group (Laurie Wyland will speak to Jen and

Al about it) could be put together, with a mission statement explaining the

HVNA mission.

Lee thought we needed to have additions to the mission statement, and Karen

suggested we have this done before the April 25 general meeting of HVNA.

Lee will have suggestions for a revised mission statement and the bulk of

he brochure done for this meeting.

The meeting concluded at 7:50pm.
