HVNA Meeting Minutes

February 19, 2002 

 

 

Location: Chuck and Becky’s Home

 

Present:  Geri Tresselt, and Chuck Kummeth, Sam & Dorothy Nooger, Lee Wyland, Cheri Rosenberger,  Matt Romberg, Jon and Amy Hester, Scot O’Malley, Wayne & Jean Haut, Karen Neset

 

City News from Scot:  City Council meeting on 2/20 which will discuss:

-         new ordinance for nuisance houses

-         noise

-         junk cars

-         alcohol consumption

-         drug use

-         complaints/problems with rental property not involved in tenant use or rental property; problems for neighborhood; if police called on repeated basis for same tenants; calls for landlord get involved with problem.

 

Treasurers Report:  Current balance is $408.71.  Includes money from calendar sales and Eau Claire home tour.

 

Zoning Issues:  There is a meeting about the Willow River school renovations on 2/21.

 

Brat Stand:  The brat stand will be set up in the City Market parking lot on July 12th-14th and August 16th-18th.  Two other weekends were set up at Econo Foods on July 19th-21st and August 21st-23rd.  Jon will cancel the latter two weekends.

 

Chuck checked about using the brat stand trailer for the block party and it may work.  386-5858

 

Music & Arts Festival (July 19th-21st):  For the HVNA information booth at the Music & Arts Festival we would need to pay 30% of profits or minimum of $500.00 to sell anything.  Called the Music & Arts Festival (July 19th-21st) about selling brats.  We should entertain selling something other than brats.  Approximately 45,000 people attend.

 

Walking Tour:  Geri and Cheri will meet to discuss walking tour and will bring back info to next meeting.

 

Should we take reservations for tours and have scheduled tour times?

 

Karen will find site and cost of banner.

 

Block Party:  We will discuss block party funding at the next meeting.  Public service, finger printing for children.  Invite Kitty, Scot, and another city council rep.  Possibly have fire truck at block party.

Historical Society:  Wayne will talk to Dorothy at the Historical Society about a presentation.
